Enki Studios is a Boston based production company dedicated to producing award-winning films, high-impact broadcast advertising, and innovative music videos. We pride ourselves on our ability to tell compelling stories and are passionate about creating exceptional images.
Our philosophy is simple - to produce great work and have fun doing it. We have collaborated with a variety of directors, filmmakers, creative agencies and crews that reinforce our aspirations and inspire us to create a high-energy and high-impact product, every time.
Enki Studios came into being in 2003 as a joint venture between cinematographer David Kruta and photographer Jose Reyes. Originally envisioned as a creative outlet to explore new techniques and technologies in photography, Enki Studios quickly outgrew its original ambitions. In 2008, Enki Studios expanded into film and high definition video, and with the addition of Steadicam operator Jeff Melanson, solidified its reputation as a high end production studio capable of producing high quality commercials, music videos, short films, and photography.
We embrace technology to help deliver the best product possible. We are experts with the Red One camera, the standard for digital cinema, and are comfortable with associated workflows and processes.
Enki Studios believes in being an active participant in local communities, and regularly donates time and services to charitable organizations and initiatives.
David Kruta, RED DIT/Phantom Tech/DP
David Kruta is an experienced RED One DIT and certified Phantom tech, and has extensive experience in RAW acquisition, ingest and post-production. As a principal of East Coast based production company Enki Studios, David has managed the acquisition process on numerous shoots, and works closely with the production team to ensure the highest quality results. As a Phantom tech, David is on the forefront of high-speed cinematography, and is available for your next shoot.
David Kruta is also an award-winning Director of Photography, and has shot feature and short films, television shows, commercials and music videos. The son of Czech political refugees, his lifetime has taken him through a variety of cultures, experiences and locations spanning two continents. His passion for photography and storytelling, borrowing from a long career in graphic design and art, lead him to create cutting-edge visuals in his pursuit for the perfect image.
Jeff Melanson, Steadicam Operator/DP
Jeff Melanson, New England based camera operator, is an emerging cinematographer making his strong mark in the filmmaking scene. An innate passion for composition and light lead Jeff to exercise his keen eye for the lens. His precise attention to detail and the smooth movements of a camera continue to influence Jeff’s current work on the job. His creativity and dedication has landed Jeff alongside clients such as the Discovery Channel, History Channel, Yoplait, AOL, Boys Like Girls, Coheed and Cambria, Harry Connick Jr, and Van Morrison. Jeff specializes as a steadicam operator/owner, and his devotion to the film world and steadicam operating has set him on a positive direction that can be expected to only take him to further heights.
Jose Reyes, Operations
Jose Reyes, a veteran of business management and strategy, holds an extensive and successful background in the management of both small and large corporations. He has helped ramp up three startup companies to operational status, and has a strong history in market research and financial forecasting in multiple markets including entertainment and advertising. Having served as a consultant to many corporations, he has led projects which have generated millions of dollars in revenue. In addition, Jose has a strong passion for photography and cinematography, and has won awards in editing.
